On October 12th last year, Jude, a Manchester toddler, successfully executed a pool bank shot at the age of 2 years and 302 days, breaking the record for the youngest person to perform such a shot. Just five weeks prior, he had already achieved another record by becoming the youngest person to complete a snooker double pot at 2 years and 261 days old. These achievements have made Jude the youngest person ever to perform both trick shots, and one of the youngest double record holders in Guinness World Records history.
But here's the twist: Jude's father, Luke Owens, believes his son's natural ability is the real deal. He noticed Jude's talent at home, where snooker quickly became the toddler's favorite hobby. 'I think I realised once he put the cue through his fingers and it was dead natural the way he did it,' Luke said. Despite his son's young age, Luke uses a bar stool to help Jude reach the table, as he's still quite short.
'I think for me, Jude’s achieved quite a lot in such a short space of time. But for him to achieve not just one, but two world records, it’s probably the pinnacle moment. How do you even beat that in life?' Luke added. The Guinness World Records authority recognized Jude's talent, giving him a special walk-out entrance at the 2025 UK Championship and making him the youngest-known person to have a sponsorship in the sport.

Despite this, Jude's family believes he is a devoted Manchester United fan and 'obsessed' with Bruno Fernandes. The editor-in-chief of Guinness World Records, Craig Glenday, praised Jude's achievement, stating, 'Record-breaking has always belonged to everyone – regardless of age. To see someone as young as Jude display such skill, enthusiasm, and determination is incredibly special. We’re thrilled to welcome him into the Guinness World Records family.'
